Asthma and COPD
When you can't breathe, nothing is more important than getting air into your lungs. The gasping can be terrifying. But if you have asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), breathing is not as easy as is should be.

COPD is a group of lung diseases characterized by limited airflow with different degrees of lung tissue destruction. Emphysema and chronic bronchitis are the most common forms of COPD. Asthma is a condition in which the air passages of the lungs are red and swollen. This inflammation of the air passages makes them extra-sensitive to many different things that can "trigger" asthma symptoms.

If you or a loved one has trouble breathing, you can get treatment help through HealthPartners.
