Career
Morris Goodwin has a broad career in finance with both non-profit and for-profit organizations. Since August 2022, Morris began a new phase of his career as managing director of Forge North, a startup ecosystem platform, as well as executive financial advisor of the Greater MSP Regional Economic Partnership. From 2014 to 2022, Morris served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of American Public Media Group (APMG), the parent organization of Minnesota Public Radio. Prior to joining APMG, Morris served as vice president of finance and administration for the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation.
In addition to HealthPartners where he chairs the audit committee, Morris serves as a director or trustee for the Bigelow Foundation; The Wilder Foundation; the Trustees of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota as investment committee chair; Twin Cities Rise as vice chair; and Reverend Deacon-Episcopal Church of MN.
Over the years, Morris has also served as chair of the Minneapolis Foundation; member of the Minnesota State Board of Investments Advisory Council; and as a director of the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota Public Radio, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Metropolitan Economic Development Association, BMC Industries, Charities Review Council, Search Institute, Winthrop Resources Corporation, MathStar Inc., and as a member of the University of Minnesota Debt Policy Advisory Committee.
