Anne Edwards, MD, FAAP, has been with our organization for 16 years. She’s been our Park Nicollet Chair of Pediatrics. She’s been our Children’s Health Initiative Co-Chair. And now we’re proud to share that her wisdom and passion are going national.

Dr. Edwards has been named a leader within the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). This organization represents 66,000 pediatricians. Dr. Edwards will lead programs to help its members keep children and families first. This is very important amidst the rapid changes happening in health care. Her title will be Senior Vice President of Primary Care and Subspecialty Pediatrics.

Dr. Edwards starts with the AAP Feb. 21. She will shift to a casual clinical care role at Park Nicollet.

“We all have something – at least one thing – in common,” Dr. Edwards has been known to say to patients, colleagues and the community. “We were all once a child.”

That makes us all responsible for advocating for children, she says. And this is what has made her a driving force in our Children’s Health Initiative. Dr. Edwards champions our message that children’s health starts in the community. And she has been key to helping HealthPartners team up with other child-focused organizations.

Dr. Edwards’ work with the AAP is sure to be innovative and impactful, too. Our organization looks forward to being a partner on it. And we know her move is great news for kids all over the country.
