Generosity knows no borders when it comes to the Minnesota International Chinese School (MICS). With campuses located in Edina, Apple Valley and Shoreview, the mission of the MICS is to develop lifelong learners and to teach and share the beauty of the Chinese language and culture in Minnesota.

During the early months of the COVID-19 outbreak, the school donated support and supplies to medical facilities overseas in China. As the situation improved there and worsened in the United States the school shifted their focus to support their local communities.

Quickly launching a Minnesota in-need effort they have been providing in-kind donations to support PPE needs of health care workers in Minnesota, including Park Nicollet, Methodist Hospital and the Methodist Hospital Hospice and Home Care teams. MICS also rallied additional partners, the Minnesota Chinese American Chamber of Commerce and the Council for US-China Medical Technology Exchanges, to join the support efforts.

MICS has generously supported the Park Nicollet Foundation COVID-19 Response and Relief Fund donating more than: 1,400 new N95 masks, 1,400 pairs of gloves and hand sanitizer for our health care teams.

We are grateful for this ongoing partnership and for the MICS community’s support to our health care workers.

When you donate to our COVID-19 Response and Relief Fund, you’re supporting patients, families and our entire community. You’re also providing much needed safety equipment for care teams at our hospitals and clinics. These teams are working tirelessly to keep us all safe; your gifts are making that possible.
