Orthopedic services at Amery Hospital & Clinic
Award-winning orthopedic care is closer than you think. We offer a wide range of nonsurgical and surgical orthopedic services at Amery Hospital & Clinic, from physical therapy to joint replacements.
In most cases, we’re able to treat you without surgery. In the rare case that we determine surgery is the best course of treatment, we’ll talk with you about the procedure, so you know exactly what to expect and how to prepare. Some of the services we provide include:
Physical therapy
Physical therapy is one of the most effective treatments we use to treat orthopedic conditions. It uses specialized exercises, education and manual therapy to target the muscles around your injured area.
The goal of physical therapy is to strengthen your muscles to take pressure off the injury while improving your body’s function and flexibility. Our physical therapists will guide you through exercises, stretches and other activities. We’ll also work with you to adjust how you move while doing physical activities so you can be more comfortable and prevent future injuries.
Our team also offers aquatic therapy. This is a type of physical therapy where you exercise in a pool. The water helps support your body, taking pressure off of your joints and muscles so you can move easier.
Physical therapy can be used to treat almost any orthopedic injury, including sprains and strains, tendonitis, muscle tears and joint pain. We may also recommend physical therapy to help you recover after a surgery.
Joint care
Many people experience joint pain, and it’s one of the most common conditions we treat. Joint pain can make it difficult to do the most basic things. Luckily, it’s manageable.
We treat joint pain throughout the entire body. No matter if it’s your knee, hip or shoulder, we’ll work with you to create a personalized treatment plan that fits with your goals and lifestyle. You can talk to a doctor about your joint pain in-person or during a video visit.
We provide many nonsurgical treatments for joint pain. Physical therapy can be used to help strengthen the muscles around your joint and improve function. We may also recommend injections to reduce swelling or lubricate the joint to help it move easier. And, in some cases, regenerative medicine can be used to help stimulate the growth of healthy tissue.
When needed, we can perform surgery to manage your condition. Many of our patients find relief with partial or total joint replacement surgery.
Orthopedic surgery
When orthopedic surgery is necessary, you’ll be in good hands. We’re dedicated to providing outstanding surgery for everything from a minor repair to a joint replacement. We’ll only recommend surgery when it’s the best way to improve how your body functions and manage your pain.
We can perform all types of orthopedic surgeries, including arthroscopic surgery, fracture repair, ligament reconstruction, and joint replacements and revisions.
Sports medicine
Whether you’re a marathon runner, dance enthusiast or casual dog-walker, we can help you get back to your favorite physical activities. Our sports medicine experts have special training in helping athletes of all ages and abilities recover from painful injuries and other conditions that keep them from doing what they love.
We’ll work with you to create a personalized treatment plan to help you move comfortably again as quickly and safely as possible. Soon, you’ll be back on the court, field or sidewalk with confidence.
