Guest Information

Visiting a patient

We recognize the vital role family and friends play in healing and recovery during a hospital stay. All HealthPartners hospitals, including Lakeview, welcome visitors anytime. Family members are defined by the patient, and are not limited to blood relatives.

The number of people welcomed at a patient’s bedside at any one time will be determined in collaboration with the patient and family. Guests visiting Lakeview Hospital between the hours of 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. must enter the hospital through the Emergency Center.

Our waiting areas

Waiting for a loved one to come out of an appointment or procedure can be stressful. We have comfortable waiting areas with reading materials, televisions and a children’s play area to help you pass the time. The main waiting area, including surgery waiting, is on the ground floor near the emergency entrance.

We also have waiting areas in the first floor main corridor and on the second floor of the Birth and Women’s Center. Family waiting rooms are near the first floor inpatient areas and the medical intensive care unit (MICU).

If you’re waiting for a loved one in surgery, check in with the surgery waiting desk on the ground floor. If you need to leave for any reason, let the volunteer know. That way, we can more easily notify you once the surgeon is ready to speak to you. Pagers are also available to contact you while you’re walking around our campus.

Gift shop

At the Lakeview Hospital Gift Shop, you’ll find jewelry and accessories, children's clothing, greeting cards, toys, games and items for the home. Several of the items in our Gift Shop are locally made and sustainable.

The Gift Shop is located within the pharmacy and we're open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Latex balloons are not allowed in the hospital due to allergies. Lilies and other strong smelling flowers are also not allowed.

Dining options

Whether you need a hot meal or just a quick cup of coffee, we have you covered. Guests can order meals (for a small fee) and dine with their loved one in patient rooms, or you can choose one of the restaurants inside or outside the building.

Lakeview is located near dozens of local restaurants that serve a variety of food, including Italian, Mexican, American, sushi and gluten-free options.

We also have two cafés on campus:

Bistro 927

Bistro 927 is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. We serve coffee, beverages, sandwiches, salads and other tasty treats.

Courtyard Café

This full-service cafeteria is located on the ground floor and serves hot meals seven days a week. It’s open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
