Mary Brainerd named to "Top 25 Women in Healthcare" list
HealthPartners President and CEO picked by Modern Healthcare to receive national honor
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — April 28, 2015 — Mary Brainerd, president and chief executive officer for HealthPartners, has been named one of the “Top 25 Women in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare. The honor is presented to female executives from around the United States who are developing policy, leading change and guiding the delivery of health care.
“Mary Brainerd’s contributions have had a tremendous impact on health care,” says Donald Lewis, Chair for HealthPartners Board of Directors. “The honorees on this list span all areas of health care, such as care delivery systems, physician organizations, government, trade associations and patients’ rights groups. Being recognized with this group speaks highly of Mary’s work and her leadership in the industry.”
Brainerd was selected from a broad pool of candidates from across the country. Nominations were judged on several criteria, including leadership within an organization and in the community, the ability to promote change in the industry, willingness to share expertise with others, and service as a role model and mentor to other health care executives.
Other women leaders to be named to the list include Sylvia Mathews Burwell, United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, Maureen Bisognano, President and CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and Dr. Christine Cassel, President and CEO of the National Quality Forum. The complete “Top 25 Women in Healthcare” list is featured in the April 27 issue of Modern Healthcare.
