Methodist Hospital receives "Grade A" in patient safety
ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. – May 11, 2015 – Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital received an “A” grade in the Spring 2015 Hospital Safety Score. Methodist earned the highest mark for patient safety by The Leapfrog Group, an independent industry watchdog.
“This grade reflects a commitment we have to each of our patients and their families,” said Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital Chief Operating Officer Roxanna Gapstur. “It’s a credit to Methodist Hospital employees for doing everything they can do to provide high-quality care in a safe setting.”
Leapfrog assigns A, B, C, D and F grades to hospitals based on a hospital's ability to prevent errors, injuries and infections. More than 2,500 hospitals were assigned scores with about 31 percent receiving an “A” grade this spring.
Methodist was one of 13 Minnesota hospitals to earn an “A” grade. To see how Methodist’s score compares locally and nationally, and to access consumer-friendly tips for patients and their loved ones, visit the Hospital Safety Score website at hospitalsafetyscore.org.
