HealthPartners Senior Researcher wins 2015 Maurice Wood Award

The Maurice Wood Award is given annually to only one physician in the world

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – July 23, 2015 – HealthPartners is proud to announce Leif Solberg, MD, Senior Advisor for HealthPartners and Senior Researcher for HealthPartners Institute for Education and Research, as this year’s winner of the Maurice Wood Award for Lifetime Contribution to Primary Care Research from the North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG).

Dr. Solberg will be presented with the award at the 2015 NAPCRG Annual Meeting, October 24-28, in Cancun, Mexico.

The Maurice Wood Award is given annually to recognize a researcher who has made significant impact in primary care research during their career. In previous years, researchers from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and the Netherlands have been recipients of the prestigious award.

Dr. Solberg is known for his long career in both health care and research, with many contributions that have aided in changing and reforming health care in the United States. He joined HealthPartners in 1992 and has since done groundbreaking research in studies of quality, organizational change and systems-based improvements in preventive services and care for chronic disease patients. Dr. Solberg has published 240 peer-reviewed journal articles and 21 book chapters, with additional appearances in multiple abstracts and proceedings.
