Winners announced for 2015 Workplace Well-being Award

3M, Harvest Land Cooperative and Cobb, Strecker, Dunphy & Zimmermann receive HealthPartners - sponsored well-being award at Minnesota SHRM conference

October 12, 2015

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Three Twin Cities-based employers have been presented with a Workplace Well-being Award at the 2015 Minnesota Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) conference. 3M, Harvest Land Cooperative and Cobb, Strecker, Dunphy & Zimmermann were each recognized for their efforts to promote health and well-being with their workforce.

"The three organizations recognized this year are pushing the envelope to redefine health and well-being in the workplace," says Joel Spoonheim, director of health promotion at HealthPartners. "Each has achieved measureable results and shown an unwavering commitment to helping employees lead healthier, more satisfying lifestyles."

Program highlights from the 2015 Workplace Well-being Award winners include:

  • 3M (large category): Built on an intrinsic behavior change model, 3M's program motivates employees to get and stay healthy for the things that matter most in their life. The Healthy Living program uses champion employee advocates to promote well-being throughout the company — at 3M's corporate headquarters in Minnesota and at 3M plants throughout the nation.
  • Harvest Land Cooperative (mid-size category): Now in the fifth year of their well-being initiative, exceptional leadership support has emphasized a focus on helping employees achieve a balanced life at both home and work. The program has created a network of support for employees looking to live a healthier lifestyle, including better eating and improved financial health to name a few.
  • Cobb, Strecker, Dunphy & Zimmermann (small category): Started in 2006, "Journey to Wellness" focuses on topics and activities that contribute to health and happiness. Approximately 90 percent of employees participate in activities from yoga to walking challenges to group community service.

Thirty-two organizations were nominated for the Workplace Well-being Award. Each nomination was scored based on evaluation criteria, with one "best-in-class" winner selected for each category.

The Workplace Well-being Award, which is sponsored by HealthPartners, is in its fifth year. Celebrating Minnesota's best and brightest in employee health and well-being, these awards present an opportunity to learn from and promote workplace well-being throughout the state.
