HealthPartners Announces Development of New TRIA Orthopaedic Center in Woodbury
New location at CityPlace to open summer 2017
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — HealthPartners today announced plans to build a new TRIA Orthopaedic Center location in Woodbury that will open summer 2017. The new TRIA location, part of the CityPlace development at I-94 and Radio Drive, will offer the full-spectrum of sports medicine and orthopaedic services and allow patients to have all of their needs met in a state-of-the-art outpatient facility. Services will include:
- an acute injury clinic providing walk-in care from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week
- a full scope of orthopaedic clinic and consultative services from orthopaedic specialists
- an ambulatory surgery center and a program for hotel-based recovery for certain procedures based on the proven, well-established Hilton Recovery program at the TRIA Bloomington location
- a complete range of imaging services to assess musculoskeletal issues, and
- physical therapy and hand therapy
"Our new TRIA location in Woodbury will allow us to meet the needs of both athletes and the broader east metro community," said Mary Brainerd, President and CEO of HealthPartners. "And we also know that as baby boomers age and want to remain active, they’re looking for high quality and convenient orthopaedic services."
TRIA has been an innovative market leader in orthopaedic care. The TRIA Bloomington location, a partnership between the University of Minnesota Department of Orthopaedics and Park Nicollet, was one of the first comprehensive outpatient orthopaedic centers in the country.
Some of the innovations TRIA has brought to market include a walk-in injury clinic, cutting edge clinical research including patient-reported outcomes, all with a concierge service. This model has changed the way orthopaedic care is provided in the Twin Cities metro area.
Like TRIA Bloomington, the Woodbury clinic will be led by sports medicine trained physicians and allow patients to be diagnosed and receive treatment for their acute injury in one visit. "With the Woodbury location, our new Maple Grove clinic, and our center in Bloomington, we’ll have convenient locations across the Twin Cities," said Edward V. Craig, MD, MPH, CEO of TRIA Orthopaedic Center. "We’ll have the opportunity to bring what has been special and unique at TRIA to patients in the east metro."
The facility is being developed by Florida-based Elion Partners and Minnesota’s Kraus-Anderson.
