HealthPartners Participates in National Initiative on Digital Healthcare
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — HealthPartners today announced its participation in the national event, "Better Together: High Tech and High Touch – The Patient-Physician Relationship in the New Millennium," in Washington D.C., Nov. 4. On the same day, results from a national Nielsen study on Americans’ use of technology to access and manage their medical care will be released.
HealthPartners is a member of the Council of Accountable Physician Practices (CAPP), an affiliate of the American Medical Group Foundation. CAPP—a coalition of visionary medical group and health system leaders—sponsored the national survey and is co-sponsoring the event with the Bipartisan Policy Center, based in Washington, D.C.
"We’ve been a leader not only in leveraging technology to help patients gain access to convenient, coordinated, and high quality healthcare, but also in giving clinicians and patients information and tools at the point of care to support better clinical decisions," said Brian Rank, Co-Executive Medical Director, HealthPartners Care Group. "With technology like Virtuwell, our online clinic where patients can get care anywhere, we’ve been able to give patients a simple and affordable digital health care experience. The ‘Better Together’ event is an important forum to show how patients and doctors are actually using technology like virtuwell, and to discuss how we can make these services available to all Americans."
HealthPartners worked with CAPP to produce one of the patient videos that will be shown at the event. The video features the story of a patient at the HealthPartners Frauenshuh Cancer Center that highlights the coordinated care approach of Park Nicollet and HealthPartners. Dr. Rank is also a featured panelist at the "Better Together" event.
The "Better Together" event is from 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. EST on, Nov. 4. For more information, visit www.bettertogetherhealth.org.
