HealthPartners hospitals win top 25 award for sustainability

Methodist Hospital, Regions Hospital and Hudson Hospital & Clinic named among top 25 in the U.S. for environmental stewardship in health care

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – April 19, 2017 – Three HealthPartners hospitals have won top honors for their environmental sustainability work. Hudson Hospital & Clinic, Methodist Hospital and Regions Hospital received the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award from Practice Greenhealth. This award recognizes these hospitals for excellence and dedication to sustainability in health care. Practice Greenhealth is the nation’s leading health care sustainability community, empowering its members to improve their environmental stewardship.

Hudson, Methodist and Regions were recognized as top 25 hospitals for setting the highest standards for environmental practices in health care. These hospitals lead the health care industry in innovation in sustainability. The competition for these top spots increases every year as innovation in green practices grows.

The HealthPartners system won 15 other awards:

  • Amery Hospital & Clinic: Greenhealth Emerald Award; Making Medicine Mercury Free; Greening the OR Recognition
  • Hudson Hospital & Clinic: Circles of Excellence-Food; Circles of Excellence-Water; Greening the OR Recognition
  • Lakeview Hospital: Greenhealth Emerald Award; Greening the OR Recognition
  • Methodist Hospital: Circles of Excellence-Waste; Circles of Excellence-Water; Greening the OR Recognition
  • Regions Hospital: Greening the OR Recognition
  • Westfields Hospital & Clinic: Greenhealth Emerald Award; Greening the OR Recognition
  • HealthPartners: System For Change Award

The awards will be presented at the Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Awards Gala, set for May 18th in Minneapolis, Minn. at the conclusion of the CleanMed Conference & Exhibition.
