Dr. Mark Jurkovich honored for extensive contributions in dental field

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Mark Jurkovich, DDS, a HealthPartners research investigator who works closely with the organization's dental group and dental plan, has been selected as the National Association of Dental Plan’s (NADP) 2024 Gabryl Award recipient. The award recognizes consistent outstanding volunteer leadership and is the association’s highest honor.

Dr. Jurkovich has volunteered with NADP for more than a decade and has been instrumental in strengthening oral health standards. His career contributions have led to improvements in patient outcomes, efficiencies in care processes and enhanced clinician documentation. His work with the Dental Quality Alliance helped gain adoption for Child Core measures into Medicaid plans nationwide. These measures expand access for children to quality oral health care and preventive services.

“This recognition underscores the accomplishments Dr. Jurkovich has made in transforming the dental benefits industry,” said Todd Thierer, DDS, MPH, associate dental director for HealthPartners dental group. “His level of expertise is exceptional, and his commitment to improving care standards has led to continuous progress in the industry. This honor is well-earned.”

The Gabryl Award recipient is selected by the NADP board of directors, in which volunteer experience and contributions are rigorously evaluated. The award was established in 1997 and is considered NADP’s “lifetime achievement” award.
