HealthPartners CEO Andrea Walsh among health care’s 100 most influential people
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – HealthPartners President and CEO Andrea Walsh has been named to Modern Healthcare’s list of 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare in 2020. The program this year recognizes the most innovative and resilient individuals who influenced the course of health care during a year marked by major health, social and political events.
Under Walsh’s leadership, HealthPartners adapted to meet the changing needs of patients and members during the unprecedented crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the launch of video visits, drive-up testing and waiving cost-sharing for testing and treatment. These changes were made while supporting the safety of colleagues, preserving needed supplies and slowing the spread of infection in the community. Walsh also led HealthPartners’ response following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, joining leaders across the state in denouncing racism and committing to address racial inequities in health care, at work and in the community.
“I’m honored to be included among this distinguished group of people” said Walsh. “This recognition belongs to our dedicated team at HealthPartners for the exceptional work, compassionate care and innovative spirit that allows us to keep the needs of our patients, members and community first.”
Modern Healthcare’s annual list honors individuals based on their leadership and impact. Honorees are deemed by their peers and senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be the most influential in the industry.
Walsh was also named to the list in 2018.
