HealthPartners continues to drive personalization with ‘My Dashboard’
New ‘My Dashboard’ interface associated with increased primary care visits, colon and breast cancer screenings, highlighting the benefits of a simple health care experience
Sept. 6, 2023 — MINNEAPOLIS — HealthPartners today announced it has launched a new personalized digital experience to help members and patients schedule care, estimate costs, use wellness resources and more. It’s called My Dashboard and the tailored interface curates health information to help drive superior engagement in each user’s health journey.
“My Dashboard brings care and coverage together to guide members and patients in a way that’s specific to their unique health care needs,” said Jennifer Danielson, Chief Health Plan Officer with HealthPartners. “This tailored experience is simpler, and it can support better health outcomes, too.”
Building on best-in-class personalization capabilities, My Dashboard uses advanced data analytics to better understand members’ health, why they experience certain health outcomes and helps improve their outcomes and experience.
In the digital experience, members and patients are alerted to health plan resources they’re not utilizing, such as fitness discounts or telemedicine options; they are connected to cost estimates for upcoming scheduled care; and they’re reminded of important upcoming or overdue preventive or chronic condition care. HealthPartners’ proprietary predictive models identify members and patients’ health needs to guide them to the care they need at the moment they need it.
Preliminary data shows the personalized experience makes care simpler and improves health care engagement.
- Dashboard users were about 10 times as likely to receive a breast cancer screening compared to control users
- Dashboard users were more than 1.5 times as likely to receive a colon cancer screening compared to control users
- 18% of dashboard users overdue for a checkup engaged with primary care, compared to 14% of control users
- Those who used engaged with My Dashboard were less likely to cancel appointments and more likely to schedule appointments online
The new user experience is part of HealthPartners broader strategy to personalize health care experiences so members are more engaged and empowered to live healthier lives. Other recent examples include targeted email campaigns to improve cancer screening and medication adherence rates. HealthPartners achieved statistically significant improvements in breast cancer screening, diabetes care and hypertension management scores in the latest Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set, a tool created by the National Committee for Quality Assurance to evaluate performance improvement among health plans in the U.S.
My Dashboard is currently available to 330,000 members with commercial insurance. HealthPartners plans to release new features – including an incentive program that supports members in their health journeys – and expand My Dashboard to new health plan members and care group patients on a regular basis.
