HealthPartners names new co-chair to Children’s Health Initiative
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – HealthPartners today announced that Dr. Corinne Brown-Robinson has been named co-chair of its Children’s Health Initiative.
Dr. Brown-Robinson is an OB-GYN at the HealthPartners Woodbury Clinic and Regions Hospital and serves as the vice chair for the HealthPartners Medical Group OB-GYN department. She will be medical co-chair of the Children’s Health Initiative with Dr. Andrea Singh, department chair of Park Nicollet pediatrics.
“Every child deserves a healthy beginning, and our Children’s Health Initiative focuses on the important opportunities we have to improve the health and well-being of children and families,” said Andrea Walsh, president and CEO. “I am delighted to have Dr. Brown-Robinson as a co-chair of this effort. She is an exceptional clinician and brings her experience and passion for women’s and children’s health to our work.”
HealthPartners Children’s Health Initiative is focused on improving the health and well-being of children by promoting early brain development, providing family-centered care and strengthening communities across the continuum of care from pregnancy through adolescence. This critical work is a key part of the organization’s Partners for Better Health Goals, which establishes specific, measurable goals and strategies to improve maternal and infant health equity by eliminating disparities.
One of the ways HealthPartners is bringing attention to children’s health in the community is through Little Moments Count, a statewide initiative that helps parents and communities understand the importance of talking, playing, reading and singing early and often with children. This collaborative effort has brought together a group of diverse community partners, including other health care systems, social service organizations, public health and media outlets.
“Having seen and experienced health inequities, closing the gap in health disparities became an easy passion,” said Dr. Brown-Robinson. “I want patients to feel heard and seen in all aspects of their care. I’m humbled and honored to be included in this incredible team who strives for healthy outcomes for all families.”
Dr. Brown-Robinson replaces Dr. Charles Lais, one of the founding members of the Children’s Health Initiative. Dr. Lais retired in January.
