HealthPartners names Penny Cermak chief financial officer
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – HealthPartners today announced that Penny Cermak has been named chief financial officer. Cermak begins this week and will be responsible for leading finance, real estate and supply chain functions, as well as supporting growth strategies across the HealthPartners system.
“We’re excited to welcome Penny to the HealthPartners team,” said HealthPartners President and CEO Andrea Walsh. “Penny has an impressive integrated health system background with deep experience in health plan and care delivery finance. Her experience and leadership will be invaluable as we strive to deliver more affordable care and coverage for people, and assure good financial stewardship to meet the community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.”
Cermak spent the past eight years at Baylor Scott & White (BSW) Health, most recently serving as executive vice president and CFO. BSW is an integrated care delivery and health care financing system based in Texas with 52 hospitals, more than 700 clinics, a 350,000-member health plan and an accountable care organization with more than 700,000 members. Prior to joining BSW, Cermak held numerous health care finance roles at BroMenn Healthcare System/Adovocate BroMenn in Illinois.
Cermak replaces Todd Hofheins, who left in August to become CFO of Adventist Health in California.
