Next phases of planning underway for new Lakeview Hospital campus
Hospital to seek continued community input throughout design phase
STILLWATER, Minn. – HealthPartners Lakeview Hospital this week announced it is moving into the next phase of planning for a new campus in Stillwater that will provide patients with access to advanced critical care and specialized centers for heart, cancer and orthopedic care – all on one campus. The facility will be located at Highway 36 and Manning Avenue on land the hospital acquired in 2017.
“For more than 140 years, Lakeview Hospital has been about the families we serve, from the babies born here to adults who have been getting care here their whole lives,” said Lakeview Hospital President Brandi Lunneborg. “The east metro and western Wisconsin communities we serve continue to grow and change. For example, the percent of people over age 65 is projected to increase 20% over the next five years. The need for coordinated services for chronic illnesses such as cardiology, cancer and orthopedic care will also increase.”
During the past year, planning teams have made important progress, including selection of an architectural firm. In the next planning phase, the hospital will seek input from community members and others on the campus design. Updates on the project, including a construction timeline, community engagement opportunities and on-campus services will be shared in the coming months.
“Lakeview Hospital has served our communities well for decades,” said Andrea Walsh, president and CEO of HealthPartners. “Over the years, the facility has been improved and expanded many times so that our care teams are able to provide high quality care for our patients. As we look ahead, our new health campus will allow us to keep pace with the needs of a growing, changing community. With the community’s input, we plan to create a state-of-the art campus that is ready for the future.”
HKS, an architectural firm based out of Chicago, will design the new campus in partnership with local architectural firm, BWBR, and engineering firms Dunham, ERA and Loucks. Owner representation for the project is being handled by the Concord Group, a national real estate advisory firm.
