Clinical trials and research

Every day, researchers across the world – including our team of experts at the HealthPartners Institute Cancer Research Center – are developing more effective treatments for all types of cancer.

As part of our work, we conduct leading-edge research and participate in clinical trials designed to improve the ways we diagnose and treat cancer, as well as manage its side effects. We share the results of our findings internationally to enhance the quality of patient care everywhere.

Our doctors are involved in a number of studies, as well as other cancer-related projects that are helping improve outcomes and experiences. This means our patients have access to the latest research and clinical trials close to home. Making clinical trials more equitable

It’s important that our work evenly supports the diverse communities we serve. We recently joined a project led by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) for this purpose. We are one of 75 research sites invited to participate in an implicit bias training aimed at reducing barriers to clinical research opportunities. We will also pilot a self-assessment tool from ASCO and ACCC intended to improve policies, procedures and programs that may inadvertently hinder participation in trials.
