Heather Bergeson, MD, CAQ

Heather Bergeson, MD, CAQ, is a Sports Medicine Physician at TRIA Bloomington, a Pediatric Sports Medicine Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Team Physician for Gopher Athletics, Medical Co-Director of TRIA Women’s Sports Medicine at TRIA Bloomington University of MN. Dr. Bergeson received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Kansas, her Medical Degree from the University of Minnesota, completed a Pediatric Internship and Residency as the Chief Resident from the University of Minnesota before finally completing the HCMC Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. She is currently a member of FAAP, AMSSM, ACSM, AAP, and the Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness. Dr. Bergeson has given a TEDx talk, “How We Can Change Youth Sports Culture?” and was Invited Commentary, Why Youth Sports Culture Persists and How We Can Change It?

Caitlin Chambers, MD
TRIA / University of Minnesota

Caitlin Chambers, MD, is a Sports Medicine Physician at TRIA Woodbury, Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota, and a Team Physician for the Minnesota Frost, a Professional Women’s Hockey League team. Dr. Chambers received her Medical Degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine before completing an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Northwestern University. She completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of California-San Francisco. Dr. Chambers is currently a member of American Orthopaedic Association, MN Orthopedic Society, J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society, Pride Ortho, AAOS, AOSS, and the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society. She has more than 20 publications.

Jill Cook, PT, PhD
La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia

Jill Cook, PT, PhD, is an Emeritus Professor in musculoskeletal health in the La Trobe Sport and Exercise Medicine Research Centre at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Cook’s research areas include sports medicine, ballet, and tendon injury including tendon pathology, treatment options and risk factors for tendon injury.

Ellen Csepe, PT, DPT, NCS

Ellen Csepe, PT, DPT, NCS, is a Clinic Director at Specialized Physical Therapy as well as a Teaching Assistant at The Institute of Clinical Excellence. In addition, Ellen is the Head Coach at Train100 Online Coaching. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Akron, a Neurological Certification Specialty, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Ohio University.

Brian Ishola, DPT, SCS, CSCS
LAB Sports Therapy

Brian Ishola, DPT, SCS, CSCS, is a board-certified sports physical therapist and the owner of LAB Sports Therapy. Brian is part of the faculty at the University of Minnesota’s Physical Therapy Program, assisting with labs and teaching orthopedics and clinical integration courses. He also conducts research to mitigate sports injuries within Minnesota’s Athletic Department. He mentors undergraduate students in the Human Movement Pathways Program, promoting diversity in physical therapy by supporting motivated students from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, he serves as Clinical Adjunct Faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, participating in guest lectures and committee work. He is a member of the National Association of Black Physical Therapists, National Strength and Conditioning Association, American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy.

Arthur Only, MD, is a PGY 3 Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at University of Minnesota. Dr. Only attended undergrad at Illinois State University before obtaining his Medical Degree from Loyola Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He has 25 publications.

Kristin Popp, PhD, is a Research Investigator at TRIA Orthopedics and Associate Director of Research at the Wu Tsai Female Athlete Program at Boston Children’s Hospital at MN. Dr. Popp obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Valparaiso University before completing her PhD in Exercise Physiology at the University of Minnesota. She is currently a member of ACSM, ASBMR and has 35 publications.

Mitchell Selhorst, PT, DPT, PhD, is the Director of Physical Therapy Research and a Physical Therapist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Selhorst received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Ohio State University where he also obtained a Masters in Physical Therapy. He completed a Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy from Evidence in Motion and received a PhD from Nova Southeastern University. He is currently Vice Chair of AASPT Youth Athlete SIG, and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association as well as Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine. He has 25 publications.

Justin Staker, PT, PhD

Justin Staker, PT, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Divisions of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Director of Health and Performance Research for Gopher Intercollegiate Athletics at University of Minnesota Gopher Athletics. Dr. Staker received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Lawrence University before obtaining a Masters of Physical Therapy from the Mayo School of Health Sciences. He completed the Gundersen Sports Medicine Residency and obtained a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Minnesota. He is currently a member of APTA, Sports, Education, Orthopaedic Academies, International Society of Biomechanics, American College of Sports Medicine, and has 13 publications.

Trent Stensrud, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Trent Stensrud, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, is a Physical Therapy Supervisor at TRIA and Adjunct Faculty at Augustana University. Trent attended undergrad at Calvin College before attending graduate school at University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. He completed a Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy from Bellin College. He is currently a member of APTA and AAOMPT. Trent has published 3 books including ACE the OCS, a test prep book for the OCS exam, and “Pain-Free Pickleball.”
