Graduate medical education for orthopedic and sports medicine
TRIA Research and Education Center supports educational opportunities at the graduate level so we can continue to provide and improve orthopedic excellence in our community.
We currently have more than 150 fellows, residents, medical students and ancillary students per year that rotate at our TRIA sites.
- Fellows are physicians who have completed their residency program and chosen to pursue additional specialized training.
- After completing medical school, doctors may choose to complete 3-5 years of residency depending upon their chosen specialty.
- As a clinical rotation site for the University of Minnesota Medical School, medical students in their third and fourth years rotate at TRIA for 2-4 weeks.
- We also coordinate rotations for students in numerous other orthopedic professions including, but not limited to, physician assistant, nursing and physical therapy.
We also offer a program for high school and college students to learn more about careers in orthopedics. You can learn more about our shadowing and observation program here.
More details on the programs we currently support can be found on our Clinical Rotations page.
