Overview

abstract

  • Arthroscopy has been used in the fixation of tibial plateau fractures for more than 20 years. Although not proved in randomized trials, several authors using the arthroscopic technique have demonstrated results comparable to traditional methods, using open reduction and internal fixation with standard buttress plates. Improved rehabilitation, greater range of motion, and a shortened hospital stay for patients who have undergone this technique have also been reported.
