Emma’s story
Emma is adopted and doesn’t have any health history from her biological family. She enrolled in myGenetics to learn more about her hereditary health risks for the first time. Through her participation, she gained peace of mind for herself and her baby.
Dr. Yang’s story

She enrolled in myGenetics with her husband to get a better understanding of their health and what it might mean for their daughters. Shellie’s story
As a genetic counselor, Shellie is deeply familiar with the value of the myGenetics program. She knows 1 in 75 people will have one of the risk factors it tests for. She also sees many patients who want to understand their genetics not just for their sake, but for the sake of their children and grandchildren. But beyond these things, she sees the program’s accessibility as an important step in making health care more affordable and equitable.
This study is open to new and established HealthPartners and Park Nicollet patients who are 18 and older, have not received a stem cell transplant or a bone marrow transplant from a donor, and are able to complete an in-person visit to provide a blood or saliva sample. You can join myGenetics with your HealthPartners online account. If you don’t have an online account with us, you’ll need to create one in order to join.
