It depends, but it’s generally best to call sooner rather than later. You can reach RideCare at 952-883-7400 (TTY 711). We’re available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Use these guidelines for when to call:

Please have these things ready when calling RideCare:

• Your member ID number from your HealthPartners member ID card
• Your name, home address, date of birth and phone number
• The date and time of your appointment
• The address and phone number of where you’re going

RideCare is included at no cost as part of eligible members’ benefits. That makes it easier to get to your appointments without worrying about finding or paying for a ride.

RideCare services are available to members in these HealthPartners Medicaid (Medical Assistance) plans:

• All members on HealthPartners PMAP, MSC+, SNBC or MSHO plans
• Children and pregnant women on HealthPartners MinnesotaCare plans

If you don’t qualify for RideCare, you may be able to find no-cost transportation through our partnership with Unite Us. Unite Us can also help you find resources for childcare, education, housing assistance and more.

When you call RideCare, you can opt in to text messages. You’ll get a text confirmation of your ride. You’ll also get a reminder two days beforehand. It’s a simple way to keep track of your scheduled rides.

To cancel your RideCare ride, just reply to the confirmation or reminder text. Or call us at 952-883-7400 (TTY 711) as soon as possible.

If you think you might need to visit multiple locations (like going to the doctor and then going to the pharmacy to pick up a confirmed prescription), let us know when you’re scheduling your ride. Or make sure to call us in advance to adjust a ride you’ve already scheduled.

Please note: If we schedule private transportation for you (like a taxi), you won’t be able to add stops or make changes once your ride begins.

It depends on what kind of transportation we arrange for you. For example:

• To get home after you’ve taken the bus, use your return pass or bus card.
• To take a taxi home, simply call the taxi company when you’re ready to leave. The number will be in the confirmation and reminder texts you got about your ride. You’ll be picked up where you were dropped off.

We’ll give you details and answer any questions you have during the scheduling process.

RideCare can help with transportation to non-emergency medical appointments at an urgent care or emergency room. But during an emergency, it’s important to get care as soon as possible through 911.

If you have a confirmed prescription, RideCare can take you to the pharmacy after your medical appointment. Be sure to mention that this might be a possibility when scheduling your ride.

You may also be able to use RideCare to schedule other rides if you have certain plans with us.

SNBC and MSC+ members can also get rides to HealthPartners Annual Meeting and stakeholder meetings.
